Bella
Bella was my first dog I owned, she is a crossbreed. In 2014 I was diagnosed with cancer and spent a lot of time in and out of the hospital. Due to the intensive chemo I received, I struggled to walk when I had finished my treatment. As I tried to get stronger Bella continued to stay with my sister as I was too weak to look after her.
After a few weeks Bella came back home to me to live, she is my best friend and very loyal. I was still weak but needed to take her out to toilet, as the days went on I built more and more strength, I didn’t go far just around the block but that was only made possible because of Bella. I think if she didn’t come home my recovery would have took a lot longer. I’m still not back to how I used to be and still struggle with my mobility but having Bella makes me get out of the house and walk, I really don’t think I would have bothered with life if it hadn’t been for her xx
