Nicky
What do I say about this boy, my superhero? Nicky came into my life as a rescue in 2012 as a recently tripawd. He is a Saluki x Greyhound. After a few days, it was a failed foster. This dog has never let his disability get in his way. He runs, jumps and swims and has even peeled a banana! He has saved dog’s lives, helped children over the fear of dogs and supported other rescue dogs. His greatest achievement was saving my life. I had a bad patch and decided suicide was the answer. As I made my attempt he decided to kick my arm so hard I dropped the meds. I went to shout but saw his brown eyes and cried. I could not leave him. Instead, I reached out and found counselling. The counsellor used him to help me begin going out again. He even accompanied me to Crufts as my support dog. Recently he passed a nose work course at the age of 11. This boy is remarkable and deserving of a SuperDog Award.
