I’d like to nominate my Mobility Assistance Dog Archie. I got him at 8 weeks and owner-trained him as most organisations don’t have criteria for my disability. He saved me as before I got him I was becoming a very anxious recluse and I struggled daily. Since Archie, I find going out and even participating in activities possible! Living more independently was made possible thanks to Archie. He looked after me and boosted my confidence! I’m absolutely heartbroken to say I lost him this year to a sudden onset of a rare form of cancer, Extraskeletal Osteosarcoma. I’m without a Mobility Assistance dog now and prospective dogs are way out of my reach atm.
