Friends of Animals Wales

This wonderful charity is run totally by volunteers, there are no paid staff. For sixteen years they have never turned an animal away because it would be a challenge or expensive to fix. They do everything possible to allow every animal to live the best possible life for as long as the quality of their life is good.

Every volunteer feels part of a special family of carers, many have become great friends and we are always on hand to support each other any time of day or night to give support, advice or practical help. This charity has been a lifeline for me, I have fostered many dogs and each and every one is special.  The rehoming team are brilliant at finding the best forever homes, many adopters keep in touch and give us updates which makes it all so rewarding.

I lost my brother to suicide just before lockdown and then my partner to a heart attack just after lockdown. The foster dogs were my reason for keeping going and the support and help from the whole team was just wonderful. Even though we couldn’t meet, they are always there for me on the phone or on social media. The dogs give me the hugs I so desperately need.

Friends of Animals Wales don’t just save animals, they save people too just because volunteering works that way. During lockdown we have been unable to carry out normal Meet & Greet fundraising but as a Team, we have worked out other ways to raise the much-needed funds to fix all the poorly animals that come to us.
