Dexter

Dexter is our beautiful rescue Greyhound who lives here with us at Woodside Grange Care Home. Before coming to us Dexter was rescued by Hector’s Greyhound Rescue, before that he was an Irish racer and has tattoos in his ears to show.
Dexter is more than just a pet though he is a companion and a carer for our service users.
Dexter lives on the Dementia side of our home, Dementia can often cause feelings of anxiety or agitation and Dexter is a calming presence and brings them so much joy and companionship. He is their friend and regularly senses when they need attention or love.
During the pandemic, he was the boost so many of them needed and filled a void left empty when family and friends could no longer visit.
