Betsy has been Ruby’s best friend and most loyal companion for the last ten years. Ruby trained her as an assistance dog and Betsy was able to accompany her to University as a puppy and has never left her side since. Ruby is autistic and on occasions when she gets distressed Betsy provides comfort to Ruby by applying pressure on her. On one occasion when Ruby had a ‘wobble’ crossing the road and became faint, Betsy kept nudging Ruby until she was able to crawl to safety. Ruby set up the UK disc dog Association and runs workshops, actively competes and judges in this sport.
Betsy even accompanied Ruby in the cabin of a plane when she was flying to Scotland, despite people telling her that it wouldn’t be possible! She truly is Ruby right hand, her best friend, her work colleague, her soul mate and her everything.
