My beloved dog, Kit, a golden retriever, is a mascot dog for many people in my village in Rottingdean, East Sussex. He loves everybody and on his daily walk ‘meets his public’ down on the beach. He goes up to the lonely, the depressed and worried, and cheers them all up. He is especially kind to children and calms babies down when they cry. He is a living, breathing ‘on site’, ‘on call’ 24/7 therapy dog. He approaches everyone with a smile and a wagging tail and leaves nobody out. During the lockdown, he really was a walking ‘ray of sunshine’, loved by everybody.
