I had pneumonococcal meningitis 10 years ago and it left me with severe problems including sight loss, hearing loss, balance issues, and severe migraine attacks. When Manley my guide dog came into my life 5 years ago, he changed everything. I feel confident to leave my house on my own, something I hadn’t done before, he helps me get dressed in the morning by fetching my clothes for me, he picks things up when I frequently drop them, and most of all, he is the most loving, caring, slightly crazy boost my mental health could ever have. He has also taken some of the pressure of my wife who is my full time carer so she can regain some of her life now as well. Everyone who meets him falls in love and I couldn’t imagine my life without him. He makes our life possible.
