Lara came into my life after a life of breeding puppies. She was skin and bone and afraid of her own shadow. She had never seen a home, a couch or a toy. She had 9 teeth removed that were broken or rotten. She had 2 eye surgeries and an emergency hysterectomy. She rescued me when I was grieving for the loss of Luna who died of cancer. I’m nominating Lara for a SuperDog Survivor Award because she is growing into a confident, happy dog. She sleeps in my arms making up for 8 years of neglect and lack of love.
