I am disabled and walk with a crutch. I also have fibromyalgia and anxiety. My husband died very suddenly aged 56 and Nelson my 6-year-old chocolate Labrador has taken it upon himself to become my carer without any training. I’m nominating Nelson for a SuperDog Carer Award because he senses when I’m anxious and nuzzles me to reassure me; and if I have to use stairs he walks alongside me to support me, never rushing past. He also gives me great cuddles when I’m down and upset.
