Excellent Eddie
There are no other words to describe Eddie in my opinion other than a super dog! In September 2020 our hearts were shattered when Eddie had an accident after trying to jump on the sofa. He missed the sofa and all of a sudden let out a screeching yelp. We rushed him to the vets, where we were told he has absolutely no feeling in his back feet. The vets referred us to Willows in Shirley, where we spoke to vets who specialise in orthopaedics and neurology. We were told Eddie needed surgery and only had a 50% chance of walking again. Despite this, we decided to go ahead with the operation. Eddie had an MRI and a 3-hour long operation to remove a slipped disc that went into his spinal cord. But despite the operation going well, unfortunately, Eddie never recovered the way we hoped. But rear leg paralysis can’t stop our Eddie! He now uses a wheelchair to be mobile. His wheelchair has given him a new lease of life and he runs and bounces around like a puppy! I will never be able to put into words how his strength and determination inspires, not only myself but others too! Everyone we meet on dog walks is always in awe of our Excellent Eddie and that is why we are nominating him for a SuperDog Award!
