SuperDog Nominee

Five years ago I was having a rough time in my life and decided to focus my energy and love on a rescue dog.  I went to a centre not knowing what I would find and came across Radley, a 4-year-old Bull greyhound who had already spent half his life in the shelter. When Radley came home he immediately knew when I was struggling, and would not leave my side if he sensed I was going to have a seizure.  He was never trained – he just knew! It was me and Radley vs the world and he was incredible. As a hunting dog in his previous life, he was prey driven, that is until I started up a rescue myself and he learnt that the rabbits I took in needed help not to be harmed. It was as if he always knew that! Shortly after Radley’s 2nd gotcha day we got attacked by another dog, a dog way bigger than even Radley could cope with. I ended up with a broken mangled hand and Radley, trying to save me, nearly lost his life. We both pushed through after many operations between us and Radley became fear aggressive of dogs. But guess what?  He overcame that too! He’s 9 years old now, and doing so well, though last year we had a heartbreaking diagnosis of cancer in his hip. He can no longer walk up and down steps very well but he loves a long stroll. We’ve always been together, fought together, overcame problems together, and I couldn’t imagine my life without him. He’s so impeccably behaved and a true SuperDog ❤️
