Tatty came all the way from Romania, where she beaten and mistreated and left on the equivalent of death row. She was terrified when she arrived and spent a week in the garden, shaking and unable to bear human contact. She had holes in her ears and burns on her neck, yet something about her lovely eyes told us she longed to be loved. I spent night after night in the garden talking to her and eventually she came up to me to accept a snack. The next day her little tail started wagging and she let me stroke her. It’s been a long road to recovery because people were so cruel to her but she’s a little star now and everyone loves her. She’s started in the school play where I work as Toto and loves her long walks, holidays and adventures. She’s a loving, loyal dog and a true survivor!
